No doubt that the word "Kutumba" stands for strong bond, relationship among the society and the unique bond among community  members. Kutumba is a very popular band of nepal, which contains six memever to make a band family, a band which main purpose is to play musical insrument and to show the traditional culture of the nation  worldwide through  live performance instrumently but not by singing the songs.

The key aim of this band is to endorse folk tunes of different of Nepal, whether it is hilly, himalayan. or terai region. Most important things is that preserving a cultural through through tradition instrument and playing vital role in folk music of the country nepal is not the easy task, although it can be possible through this band and their unique characteristics of playing different instrument. Musical Instrument played uniquely by this band are : tungna, khin, sarangui, murchunga, dhimay, tabala, madal, dhimay as so on.They frequently organised the live musical performances and concerts inside and outside the country. In USA they performed very well from the side of Nepal which was the best performance said by their fans. Places where they performed inside the United States of America are as follows:

Various musical albums they have realized in the market are: Utsarga (2010), Mithila (2009), Naulo Bihani (2006), Folk Roots (2005), Forever Nepali Folk Instrumental (2004) 

Kutumba Bands attend maximum numbers of concerts inside and outside the country because of demand of the listeners like school program, corporate parties, charity concerts, public concerts and so on.  

The key purpose of this band is to conserve Nepali traditional music, Nepal's heritage and promote education through music. 

Kutumba band have their own unique musical style of Nepali musical Industry, it has their own recording studio in Patan, Lalitpur, Nepal. Shiddhartha Maharjan who is in effects provide place for the studio also his father Mr. Mangal Maharjan was the producer of the third and second album of the Kutumba Band. 

Besides musical career Pavit have his own shop, also he is the teacher of keyboard in a school named Shuvatara. Another band member named Raju teaches in the same school. Rubin composed various Jingles for promoting client business activities one of them is the jingle for kantipur news. Furthermore, Shiddhartha is the full time student of Sirjana college of fine Arts beacause of his intrest towards Painting and Sketching.

At Present, using Nepalese traditional musical instruments like Bamboo,Flute, Dhol, Sarangi, Madal, Tungna and Murchunga this band performed a live concert at Buddhanilkantha, Kathmandu,Nepal on 24th May 2013.
